Production Process of Changyuan Aluminum Profile Factory
Changyuan Aluminum specializes in the manufacturing of high-quality aluminum profiles, serving various industries with precision-engineered solutions. Our production process integrates advanced technology with stringent quality control to ensure durability, aesthetic appeal, and performance. Below is an overview of our key production stages, with a special focus on the extrusion and painting/coloring processes.
1. Melting and Casting
The process begins with high-grade aluminum ingots, which are melted in large furnaces at controlled temperatures. Alloying elements are added to achieve the desired material properties. The molten aluminum is then cast into long, cylindrical billets through a direct-chill casting process, which are later homogenized to ensure uniform microstructure.
2. Extrusion Process
Extrusion is the core of our profile shaping. The aluminum billets are heated to approximately 400–500°C and loaded into an extrusion press. Under high pressure, the softened aluminum is forced through a precision-designed die, shaping it into the required cross-sectional profile. This step determines the profile’s dimensional accuracy and mechanical strength. After extrusion, the profiles are rapidly cooled using air or water quenching to lock in the tempered properties.
3. Straightening and Stretching
The extruded profiles are straightened and stretched to correct any deformation, ensuring perfect straightness and dimensional stability.
4. Cutting and Aging
Profiles are cut to specific lengths and undergo artificial aging (precipitation hardening) in aging ovens. This heat treatment enhances the profiles’ hardness and strength to meet standardized mechanical requirements.
5. Surface Pretreatment
Before painting, profiles undergo a thorough cleaning and pretreatment process. This includes degreasing, etching, desmutting, and chromate or phosphate conversion coating. The pretreatment enhances corrosion resistance and provides an ideal surface for paint adhesion.
6. Painting and Coloring
Our painting line utilizes both powder coating and liquid painting technologies, with a strong emphasis on eco-friendly and durable finishes.
· Powder Coating: Electrostatically charged dry powder is applied evenly onto the grounded profiles. They are then cured in an oven, where the powder melts and forms a tough, uniform coating. Powder coating offers excellent resistance to scratching, fading, and corrosion.
· Liquid Painting (Optional): For specific projects, we apply liquid paints via automated spray systems, followed by baking for hardening.
· Color Matching: We offer a wide range of standard and custom colors, including wood-grain and metallic effects, achieved through advanced pigment blending and coating techniques.
7. Anodizing (Alternative Coloring)
As an alternative to painting, we also provide anodizing services. Through electrolytic passivation, we create a thick, protective oxide layer that can be dyed in various colors, offering superior wear resistance and a metallic appearance.
8. Quality Inspection and Packaging
Each profile undergoes rigorous quality checks, including dimensional verification, coating thickness measurement, adhesion tests, and color consistency evaluation. Only after passing all inspections are the profiles carefully packaged to prevent damage during transit.
9. Warehousing and Delivery
Finished products are stored systematically and dispatched promptly according to customer schedules.
At Changyuan Aluminum, we combine expertise with innovation to deliver profiles that meet international standards. Our advanced extrusion and painting/coloring capabilities allow us to cater to diverse architectural, industrial, and decorative applications.
